For almost 40 years, Washington Academy has been helping students succeed in school and in life. Our school believes in President Obama's educational philosophy that students need to be college and career ready. But don't take our word for it. The Star-Ledger (NJ Advanced Media) wrote an article about one of our former students and the impact he has had not just in the professional world, but in building a solid family for himself.
We frequently hear from parents, "Thank you for all your hard work. How did you get my son/daughter to do all that work?"
The answer is simple: We didn't. Your child did all the work. We just taught them "HOW" to be successful.
The number one reason students succeed at Washington Academy and why thousands of parents have trusted our program is because every student can be successful in school, if they are taught how to be successful.
New Jersey's public and charter school system happens to be ranked in the Top 3 States in the U.S., which means the quality isn't the issue, but the ONE SIZE FITS ALL model does not meet the needs of many special needs students.
Our staff are highly trained educators who receive nearly 70 hours of professional development per year (the Top NJ School Districts provide 25 hours of P.D. training), so our teachers, aides and assistants help students LEARN how to succeed, which helps students overcome the challenge of ONE SIZE FITS ALL model.
All of this effort, work and dedication can take several years to instill, but it's worth it in the end.
Thousands of students have attended Washington Academy in the last 40 years, but this is a highlight list of the jobs and colleges students have attended:
