New Jersey's 1st Teacher in Training Program (TTP) - 2017-2018 OPENINGS

Current OPEN Positions 

All candidates with less than 3 Full Years of Teaching Experienced are considered "Novice Teachers" at Washington Academy and shall be enrolled in our Mentor and Induction Program approved by the Department of Education.

Job Titles:


Supervisor/Special Education Teacher: Requires a NJ Supervisor Certificate and a Special Education Certificate (+Standard Certificate in Regular Education) (FILLED)

High School Science -  Requires a NJ Teaching Certificate in one Science Specialization (FILLED)

High School Mathematics Teacher: Requires a NJ Teaching Certificate in Math (FILLED)

Physical Education/Health Teacher: Requires a NJ Teaching Certificate in PE/Health (FILLED)

Part-Time Teacher Aide: (Open) Immediate Opening for candidates as a PT Teacher Aide, to work with students in class. Preferrable skills and experience background, SORA license, CPR, understaning of special needs students, willingness to learn and grow professionally. 



Administrative Assistant: Part-Time (Morning or Afternoon) The Candidate must be an expert in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and also webpage editing and simple coding.

Part-time Custodial Substitute (Open) -  Candidates must have cleaning experience, ability to work a flexible schedule, desire to gain experience in custodial and maintenance field, and knowledge of at least one skill: painting, floor waxing, bathroom sanitizing, light handyman work.

State of New Jersey Employment Requirement for Individuals Working in a School:

1. In order to work in a NJ School, all candidates must be officially approved to work through the Criminal History Review process.

2. It is required that all new Staff Members must be screened for T.B. by a physician within 6-months of employment at the school. 

3. It is required that all new Staff Members complete a medical physical and clearance to work. All candidates should be aware that this job requires physical exersion and should be able to lift approximately 40lbs without any undue physical stress or medical issue.

Openings can occur at any time throughout the school year, therefore if a position is not listed above, but a potential candidate would like to send a resume to be kept on file, please indicate in your cover letter "Future Consideration 2017-2018" and our Human Resource department will compile a list of "future" candidates if a new job opening becomes available during the 2017-2018 school term. There is no promise for any interview to any candidate that sends in their resume.
