Washington Academy has for thirty years been showcasing the work of its students in an interactive exhibit called “Spotlight.”
What “Spotlight” does is provide a forum for students to show-off the academic work they have been completing in class in an artistic, and creative way. It is a way for our students to shine on a broad stage in front of child study teams, parents, friends and family.
The “Spotlight” helps boost self-esteem and self-confidence because it enables students to visually see their accomplishments and the accomplishments of other students in the school.
All students participate in “Spotlight” activities, which also creates a common culture within the school to showcase their best work.
As you can see in the photo gallery, Spotlight City, we transformed our gymnasium into the most ambitious spectacle any school has ever seen.
All the projects are aligned with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and feature courses such as: Math, Science , Social Studies, Language Arts, Art, Technology, Character Ed, and Health.
