Behavior Plans
Each Classroom at the Elementary and Middle School levels create an individual classroom behavior plan to follow for the year. Each student is made fully aware of school and classroom rules and expectations, as well as, the potential rewards they can earn.
At the High School level, there is one consistent behavior plan for all students. Due to the fact that our content area teachers teach more than one grade level, all high school students are expected to follow school and classroom rules.
Rewards
Students at Washington Academy have many rewards that can be earned and at different intervals during the course of the year. At our younger grade levels, students that exhibit significant behavioral challenges in the classroom have the opportunity to earn more frequent rewards, positive supports and interventions.
As students move up the grade levels, students are expected to take on more personal responsibility for their decisions and actions. Most students begin to achieve success in the classroom based on our plans. Some students that continue to exhibit behavioral challenges will have additional positive supports and interventions put in place.
Students can earn rewards, daily, weekly, monthly and at the end of the year.
Such rewards include:
· Washington Academy logo t-shirts, sweatshirts, pencils, notebooks, lunch bags, and stress balls.
