Population Served: Washington Academy's program is designed to serve all students with mild to moderate behavioral challenges, as well as students with learning disabilities. Because Washington Academy's program has both an academic acceleration component along with a positive behavioral modification system, our school can meet the needs of students with several IEP classifications. Washington Academy also serves students with Autism, who are more academically oriented. If you have a question about whether your child/student's classification is an appropriate fit for our program, please contact us.
Academic Program: The educational program at Washington Academy is similar to a public school academic curriculum. Our teachers write curriculum maps in every grade level to align with the NJ State Core Curriculum Content Standards. Based on those standards, our teachers then make appropriate modifications and accommodations to meet the individual needs in the IEP.
