
NEWS UPDATE: FREE PUBLIC SCHOOL "Inclusion" Analysis Reports
In response to frequent communication with public school districts, David Schwartz, Ed Leadership Director/Superintendent is working with districts to analyze in-district "inclusion" programs to enhance services and also provide "appropriate" educational services at its Belleville campus.
EDUCATION CONFERENCE SERIES NEWS
The Washington Academy Education Conference Series concluded its 2012-2013 schedule in April. Over 100 public school personnel attended and close to 25 districts participated in the workshops about "inclusion" classrooms, identifying student behaviors and become more familiar with Washington Academy's Level 1, 2, and 3 behavioral classifications.

High School Students: It is necessary to send the current transcript when setting up a meeting, so that a Full Credit Audit can be created to determine the best path to Graduation. (Since 2008, 100% of eligible high school seniors have earned a NJ High School Diploma. Call 973-759-6555.
Pre-School Disabled Transition Program
Just as public school districts are outlining paths for students K-8 to transition back to in-district programs, Washington Academy has created a new Pre-K transition program to accelerate the progression into "inclusive" classrooms.

Last Day of School 2012-2013: June 20, 2013. ESY begins July 1, 2013 and runs until August 16, 2013
Academic hours are from 8:20 am- 2:00 pm. Half-Days are from 8:20 am- 12:45 pm.

Washington Academy Northern NJ Partnership:
Washington Academy has partnered with the Return-Organization Consortium, which includes public school districts in Essex and Bergen Counties, creating a model for successful transition plans to return students back to district.
School Positive Support Highlights:
April 2013: The Washington Academy basketball team has played two highly competitive games this month, the 2nd game was at the Brooklyn Nets PNY Training Center in Rutherford, NJ. The team scored 18 points in the 4th quarter (a school record) to cut the gap to 4 points in the end. The team has one more game at the PNY Center this month.

What’s New with ESY Program 2013-2014
Kindergarten through 8th grade students will have additional social skills activities in the classroom as part of our social skills training camp. Incoming 9th grade students will receive high school prep packets to make a smooth transition into high school. And all returning high school students will receive a full Graduation Credit Audit to ensure eligibility for a high school diploma. (100% of eligible seniors since 2008 have earned high school diplomas.)
